Egypt in April

Now is the perfect time of year to book your egypt holidays. The temperatures in March and April in Egypt are just about perfect, before the summer temperatures arrive at the end of May. The desert climate can be soothing, and I personally find Cairo fascinating, and on the Mediterranean coast, Alexandria has lots of history, too, and a long beach. Hey, and by all means make a trip to the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.

Then when you are done with Lower Egypt, fly to Aswan in Upper Egypt and then board a multi-day boat cruise down the Nile to Luxor. in Luxor you will visit the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, and Karnak Temple (which is lovely in the full moon). Then take a sailboat (a felluca) ride on the Nile at dusk, while listening to the desert dogs bark like there is no such thing as time. Visit a tailor shop and have custom fit clothing made from Egyptian cotton or wool. Have a German beer and a sumptious 4-course mean aboard the Hilton Boat. Then walk again along the Nile, all the while remembering how much time really has passed since the ancient temples first rose above the sands.
